Terms of Service
Effective date: June 24, 2026
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of BreakingBad (the "Service," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
BreakingBad helps engineering teams detect breaking API changes across producer and consumer repositories. The Service requires access to your source repositories and API definitions in order to function.
2. Eligibility & account
You must be at least 18 years old and have authority to bind the organization on whose behalf you use the Service. You are responsible for the activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You may revoke our GitHub App access at any time, which will end the Service for your organization.
3. Subscription, pricing & auto-renewal
Paid plans are billed monthly per repository under monitoring. The per-repository price, currency, and any applicable taxes are shown to you in Stripe Checkout before you confirm the subscription; prices are denominated in U.S. dollars unless a different currency is displayed at checkout. By starting a subscription you authorize us, through our payment processor Stripe, to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis at the then-current price until you cancel.
We may change pricing on at least 30 days' notice by email or in-product notification. Continued use of the Service after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.
4. Cancellation & refunds
You can cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Billing, which opens the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; the Service remains available until then and you will not be charged again.
Charges are non-refundable except where required by law. If you believe you have been billed in error, contact billing@liblab.com within 30 days of the charge and we will review the request in good faith.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use the Service to access repositories you don't own or have permission to monitor, attempt to disrupt the Service, reverse engineer it, resell it, or violate any applicable law. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
6. Your content
You retain all rights to the source code, API definitions, and other content you make accessible to the Service ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to access, store, and process Your Content solely to operate the Service for you. We do not train models on Your Content and we do not share it with third parties except the subprocessors disclosed in our Privacy Policy.
7. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by canceling your subscription and uninstalling the GitHub App. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the Service is no longer commercially reasonable; in the latter case we will provide reasonable prior notice and a pro-rata refund of any prepaid, unused fees.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do our best to detect breaking changes accurately but do not warrant that the Service will identify every breaking change or that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or relating to the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms will not exceed the fees you paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you by email or in-product notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.
